WE have the honour to present to Your Grace an Account of the Conversations which took place at Malines under the presidency of Cardinal Mercier on four occasions in the years 1921-1925.

An independent account of the proceedings has been written on behalf of the Roman Catholic members of the conferences, and our desire is that, if your Grace approves, both accounts may be published together.

We trust that the Report will be held both to justify what has been done so far and also to warrant the hope that further Conversations may, under God's guidance, contribute yet more to the great cause which we have at heart.
