Dedication.
To the Bishops of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States.

RIGHT REV. BRETHREN,

THE following publication being issued on your recommendation, I cannot but hope, that there will be th eresulting influence of your names.

In my preparation, and in my delivery of these Commentaries, I have never anticipated their being of use, beyond the limites of the Diocese for which they were composed. No other idea occurred, until it was suggestion by the Right Rev. Bishop Bowen, whose judgment and whose desire could not but have great weight with me; especially when repeated, at the late meeting of the House of Bishops in General Convention. It was at his instance, that you gave to the present edition your unanimous sanction; which is duly appreciated, Right Rev. Brethren, by

Your friend and brother,

WM WHITE.

Philadelphia, May, 1833.
